PR Yoga Weekend Retreat 2020

UPDATE JAN 11, 2020 –

Due to the current seismic activity specifically in the south-west part of the island, I have decided to cancel all 2020 yoga retreats in Puerto Rico. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please consider donating to my organization Stardust Foundation here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/earthquake-relief-puerto-rico

APRIL 16 – 20, 2020

Welcome to the official page to learn all about my very special yoga retreat in my homeland of Puerto Rico. During the 3.5 days of the retreat, we will meditate, move through yoga, swim, hike, set intentions, explore and rejuvenate! What makes this retreat so special is that it is a combination of connecting with ourselves through the practice of yoga and meditation as well as a carefully curated holiday to show you the less traveled parts of the south west area in Puerto Rico. I invite you to take a peak at our itinerary and join us for this special retreat.

Please email booking@stardust-yoga.com to reserve your spot.

FAQ’s

What to bring?

Bring yoga clothes, swim clothes, hydroflask or regular water bottle and hiking shoes! It can be sneakers. Just something where you feel comfortable in walking in. Also, an open mind and willingness to connect with nature! 😉

Is transportation included?

Yes. Arrival should be at San Juan International Airport. Any student arriving at Aguadilla’s Rafael Hernández International Airport or Ponce’s Mercedita Airport must find their own transportation.

Which flights are best?

For direct flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico from New York City or Florida, I recommend Jet Blue. Flights range between $250 – $350 round trip.

For students flying out of France or Morocco, I can help find the best options for you.

Accomodations?

Everyone will have their own bed. There are six (6) Twin Sized beds for students. One bedroom has the bunk beds the other room has the other twin sized beds. This is a rooming situation but I’m sure we can all find space and privacy. The house is 5 minutes walking distance to the beach. It is a “no fluff/luxury” home. Just a simple beach house with a true feel of the Caribbean Life! Get the experience of being on the island like a true Puerto Rican. 🙂 There is an outside bar area, some hammocks, patio and seating area.

Food?

Our menu will consist of traditional Puerto Rican Cuisine that are vegetarian and not a lot of greasy foods. It will be a combination of Puerto Rican Cuisine along with more American Food such as rice, quinoa, beans, local veggies (yucca, plantains, avocado, etc) as well as clean fixings like lettuce, tomatoes, mangoes (if in season), pineapples and seafood. Let me know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions. You do have the option to purchase meat if you desire but be mindful of  vegetarians and vegans in the group. If it happens that everyone in the group does eat meat and unanimously desire meat, we can arrange that in our meal plans.

You will be responsible for a few meals/drinks outside of the house when at an excursion such as our “Drinks Night” at CopaMarina Resort (They make the BEST tropical drinks and fresh juice) and at our dinner at La Parguera before our Bioluminescent Bay Boat Ride. This is the south-west part of the island so food and drinks are much less expensive than San Juan. Think more or less $20 dinner at La Parguera, $10 cocktails at CopaMarina Resort.

Stargazing / Night Yoga?

During my teacher training, one of my mentors led us through a completely blindfolded class. It was exhilarating! Brought so much depth and prospective to trusting our bodies and senses. The poses we do will all be at a slow pace and you will be underneath millions of stars. You might even see the milkyway! It will be safe and fun! Trust your instincts! 🙂

Yoga Mats and Blocks?

All included within the price and at the end of the trip, you can take them home with you! They will be brand new items.

Hiking Difficulty?

The hike up the Rodadero Summit is I would say a medium level hike. Definitely bring hiking shoes/boots and plenty of water to drink. We will be guided by a childhood friend of mine that has done this hike many times and even brought me and my husband up once and it was completely safe. Some parts (if you suffer vertigo or fear of heights) can seem challenging so please do let us know. It wouldn’t be recommended if you suffer anxiety, vertigo or fear of heights.

Beaches?

We will be visiting several beaches in the area. All have their different charm and vibes. Playa Santa, Manglillo, Playuela, Punta Ballena and the private beach on the CopaMarina Resort property.

Rivers? Waterfalls?

I will be offering the chance to visit Gozalandia which has these exquisite waterfalls. Very easy to get to. They have a parking space and then we do a short and very safe walk/hike over.

Bio-luminescent Bay?

The bio bay in La Parguera is one of three we have in Puerto Rico. Tiny micro-ogranisms light up like stars in the water when agitated. It is an experience you must try and is included with your retreat package. We will be going with Johnny’s Boat and he will take us out into the bay. His skipper jumps into the water and swims around the boat and you can see the water glow. You can also put your hands into the water that they bring on board in a bucket and have a bit of fun as well. One of our crown jewels from the Isle of Enchantment.
